The Tailored Man Receives Honor as Washington D.C.
What do you get when you combine great customer service with quality fabric and clothing lines and add a dash of gentlemanly pizazz?
You get noticed.
Earlier this month, The Tailored Man was voted Best Local Men’s Clothing Shop by Express magazine, a publication of the Washington Post. The selection was based on readers’ votes.
“We’re proud that our customers have given us this honor,” says Sanjay Daswani, Vice President of Operations for The Tailored Man. “We make our clients our priority, and the fact that they have taken the time to recognize The Tailored Man means so much.”
Operating out of two locations in Virginia (5243 Duke Street in Alexandria and 1750 Tysons Boulevard in McLean), The Tailored Man services customers from Washington D.C. and the surrounding areas. Clients range from Washington D.C. insiders and power players to everyday Joes. But they all have one thing in common: they’re sharp-dressed men.
Sixty percent of The Tailored Man’s business comes from referrals, a sign that their customers are their best champions.
Service doesn’t stop at the end of a perfectly tailored sleeve: Daswani takes his professional tailors on the road for custom fittings in cities throughout the east coast. In addition, The Tailored Man offers a booking service online at their website – and they’ve also been known to offer scotch tastings with fittings. Two months ago they introduced “Ask The Tailor,” an online Q&A that dispenses fashion and etiquette advice for gentlemen.
“When my uncles founded this business 45 years ago in 1969, they wanted The Tailored Man to provide exquisite bespoke services to their clientele, “ Daswani says. “Everything we do now is guided by that principled mission.”
